Janitor Shot Dead After Resisting Arrest in Davao City

Meanwhile, in Davao City, a janitor and a drug suspect named John Paul Bueno was shot by police officers last Friday, January 25.
Based on a report from ABS-CBN News, the police initiated a buy-bust operation to the drug suspect in Fatima Village, Sasa, Davao City.
The family of the janitor who died on the shooting claimed that the police officers did not conduct an undercover operation in the house of the suspect.
They stated the John Paul Bueno was just lying in bed when the police get inside.
According to the report, brother of the janitor stated that the suspect asked for mercy to the police officers before he got shot. He also said that the police allegedly aimed a gun at him.
“Meron pang tao ditto! Isali natin to!” said the police.
He answered to the police saying, “Hindi kami kasali, sir!.”
Based on the report, the brother of John Paul Bueno stated that he and some of their neighbors heard 5 gunshots and let the janitor hold a gun.
The statements of the police were different from the claim of the brother of the suspect. They said the John Paul tried to grab a weapon so they shot him first.
