A report in GMA News states that MMDA spokesperson Celine Pialago noted, however, that they require assistance from local government units (LGU) so it can properly properly implement traffic rules and road safety regulations.

Pialago further emphasized that an average of at least 100 vehicles are being towed and at least 2,000 vehicles are ticketed for illegal parking, thus, saying that their clearing operations are still going on.

Pialago even said that there are areas that are not covered by the MMDA and this is where the  LGUs play their part where they will send their request to the agency.

As per the report, the MMDA are in collab with mall operators and agreed to adjust business hours for the holiday season in anticipation of heavy traffic. Lastly, Pialago said that malls along EDSA, Libis, Marcos Highway and Commonwealth Avenue will open at 11 a.m. starting November 5, 2018 until January 14, 2019.
