ERIK MATTI REGRETS – The multi-awarded director Erik Matti says something after criticizing the Hollywood film ‘Crazy Rich Asians’.

One of the famous actress Kris Aquino was one of the casts of the film playing the character of Malay Princess Intan. The film is based on Kevin Kwan‘s book, Crazy Rich Asians.

And the Pinoy director Erik Matti, who is known for his films such as On The Job, Honor Thy Father, Seklusyon, Buy Bust, Mano Po 2, Rigodon, Rounin, and among others, has criticized the film.

He said, “No matter how successful this #CrazyRichAsian movie is, it’s still just a piece of old-school 90’s style TV movie. Caricature acting, white man’s view on Asians, cliche insights wrapped in flashy modern parties, Tita sensibilities, bad direction.”

“This is no Pretty Woman! Far from it. But who can argue with success? That’s why everyone here I think wants to make a version of this here,” he has also added.

And now after posting his opinion on social media, he posted something regarding the matter which has caught the attention 0f the social media people.

He indicated, “Lesson to myself as reminder again and again: be careful in posting one’s critical opinions about everything on social media. No matter how much you take good care to word it right, it will still be open to be taken out of context. Grrr!!! I never learn!”

Some have commented that maybe there are just those who misinterpreted his statements, opinion, or constructive criticism about the Hollywood film “Crazy Rich Asians”.

One netizen stated, “Don’t worry about it Direk. Some people can’t handle constructive criticism. If you’re being truthful and with no agenda, that’s good enough for me. Most of the people can’t handle the truth and that’s their problem.”
