Tropical Cyclone Forecast For September To December 2018 Issued by PAGASA

The state weather bureau PAGASA has issued the tropical cyclone forecast from the month of September until December 2018.

The Philippines is known as one of the most disaster-prone countries all around the world since it is located within the Pacific Ring of Fire.

This month of September 2018, at least 3 tropical cyclones have already entered the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) including Typhoon Mangkhut (Ompong).

The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) released a forecast regarding the numbers of tropical cyclones expected to this the country this year.

PAGASA revealed that about 6 up to 8 tropical cyclones are expected to enter the country’s territory before the year ends.

  • SEPTEMBER 2018 – 2 or 3
  • OCTOBER 2018 – 2 or 3
  • NOVEMBER 2018 – 1 or 2
  • DECEMBER 2018 – 1 or 2

The weather agency also released forecast on possible tropical cyclones that will enter PAR during the first two months of 2019.

  • JANUARY 2019 – 0 or 1
  • FEBRUARY 2019 – Slim chance
