MARLO MORTEL – The ‘American Idol’ winner Maddie Poppe expresses a message to the young actor and singer Marlo Mortel amid his mother’s ordeal.
Marlo Mortel is a Filipino actor and singer best known for playing the role of Nicolo Angelo Cortez in the noontime television drama, Be Careful with My Heart. This is now a defunct show starring Richard Yap, Jodi Sta. Maria, Janella Salvador, Jerome Ponce, and among others.
He actually started a career in show business when he joined StarStruck using the screen name Marlowe Pamintuan and formerly one of the regular teen performers at German Moreno’s “Walang Tulugan with the Master Showman”, using the name John Miguel Pamintuan
Marlo had a breakthrough in his career when he auditioned in the ‘X-Factor’ Philippines aired in ABS-CBN.

After his audition stint, he became an actor paired with Janella Salvador.
Currently, his mother is battling a Stage 4 breast cancer and amid his mother’s ordeal, the new winner of the ‘American Idol’, Maddie Poppe expressed a message of encouragement for him and his mother.

“I just want to say I know you are going through a rough time right now, and so your words mean a lot to me, and I really appreciate them,” Poppe said in the video.
On the video, the caption wrote by Mortel indicated, “She’s not just an amazing singer, but also an amazing person inside and out. Congratulations and God bless you on your journey!”
The video was made the night before Poppe won the competition.
