Pinoy Celebrities Expressed Disappoint Over P1, 000 Budget Approved By House of Representative For CHR
Pinoy celebrities have expressed their disappointment over the P1, 000 budget allocated for the Commission on Human Rights (CHR).
The P1, 000 budget allocated for CHR becomes the most controversial issues and topics this week after it garnered different reactions and negative feedback from other politicians, celebrities, and ordinary Filipinos.
Previously, President Rodrigo Duterte has threatened to abolish the agency during his second State of the Nation Address (SONA).
CHR was one of the agencies in the Philippines opposing the anti-illegal drug campaign of President Duterte, which was linked to the Extrajudicial Killings (EJK).
On Tuesday (September 12, 2017), the majority of the members of the House of Representatives approved the P1, 000 budget for the Commission on Human Rights (CHR), which was initially proposed of P649.484 million.
Filipino celebrities have reacted and very vocal to 119-32 vote for CHR’s budget reduction.
Dingdong Dantes has expressed his disappointment on the result of the votes saying “Akalain mong 32 lang sila.”
Jim Paredes leaves a question saying “Where will the poor go when they are abused by public officials?”
Ogie Diaz has also questioned the decision of the lawmakers to approve the CHR’s budget reduction.
Bianca Gonzales was also disappointed on the approved bill and stressed that the agency could not afford anymore to pay their electricity, water, and internet bill. She also said that even a single staff would not receive a salary.
Enchong Dee also promised to serve the Filipino people despite having no position in the government.
Agot Isidro also slammed the 119 lawmakers who approved the proposal saying “When it is your turn, do not ask help from the CHR.”
