Xyriel Manabat had this memorable experience with Anne Curtis
Actress Xyriel Manabat expressed pride over the humility of actress Anne Curtis that she personally witnessed.
Xyriel was deeply touched by a gesture from Anne, something that has remained etched in her memory. The younger actress has been in the industry for many years already, since her child star days, until her acting comeback a few years ago.
Xyriel has worked with various celebrities in the entertainment industry, and one memorable experience that she had was with Anne.
In the latest episode of “Ang Walang Kwentang Podcast,” the former child actress shared a valuable lesson she learned from Anne Curtis while working with her on the series It’s Okay to Not Be Okay, based on the article in Abante.
Xyriel Manabat recounted an instance during a location shoot where she and Anne shared a room. She fell asleep in her shared room with Anne.
While Xyriel was sleeping, she heard Anne’s team chatting, and she heard that the It’s Showtime host told her team to keep quiet.
“So, backpack lang kami doon. So, share kami ng room ni Ate Anne. Insomniac nga ako, tapos sa taping, doon ako nakakahanap ng pahinga or tulog. Siguro ‘yun rin ‘yung way ko mag-escape sa hiya or sa anxiety. Tulog ako, tapos siyempre Ate Anne na ‘yon—Anne Curtis na ‘yon—pinapatahimik niya ‘yung team niya,” Xyriel shared.
She was surprised to hear Anne telling her team to keep quiet because she was sleeping. Xyriel added that she was actually awake but felt embarrassed, so she went back to sleep.
That was when she realized how considerate Anne is of others, of people around her on the set, unlike some people who have no regard for those around them.
“Pag-uwi ko, bitbit ko ‘yon… Tumatak siya sa utak ko, na grabe ‘no?! Si Ate Anne, may pakialam pa rin siya sa paligid niya kahit siya na ‘yon. Eh ‘yung ibang tao nga, walang pakialam kung may nagpapahinga—magpapatugtog, magsisigaw, or kahit nandiyan sa gilid mo (at) may nagpapahinga, ang ligalig. Ang insensitive at hindi marunong makiramdam,” Xyriel shared.
The younger actress also stressed how humble Anne is despite her status in the entertainment industry.
She said that Anne’s humility is incredible, and this was something that she will bring with her from her Ate Anne.
Xyriel also pointed out that this was something that Anne did not need to force upon her or say out loud, but it has taught her something valuable by just observing. The younger actress was delighted that she has a first-hand experience of just how humble Anne is.
“Kahit ‘yung may pinaka may karapatang mag-diva, grabe ‘yung humility. Wala siyang ere. Yung iba kaya nang paliparin ‘yung hot air balloon sa ere, siya wala talaga,” Xyriel Manabat said.
