Actress and comedian Gee Canlas opened up about her experience of physical abuse involving her estranged husband, Archie Alemania.
Based on a previous article, Archie Alemania opened up about his marital struggles with Gee Canlas following their separation. He said their relationship was affected by disagreements over their roles and decisions at home.
He admitted that there have been times when he wanted to leave the marriage but would always opt to stay for their son. His comments came after Canlas publicly confirmed their separation and shared her own struggles in trying to keep their family together.
Recently, following the actor’s statements, Canlas also spoke and shared her experiences of physical violence from her estranged husband. Her claims were reportedly backed by evidence, and among the incidents she recalled was an argument during which she alleged that Alemania struck the side of her head, behind her ear, using a stainless steel tumbler.
According to Canlas, the impact was strong enough that she heard what sounded like her skull and bone cracking inside her head.
She also recalled the incident where she suffered from two fractured ribs.
Canlas shared that they were living separately from her parents before an alleged incident of physical violence prompted her to return home. During the argument, Alemania allegedly pushed and punched her in the side after she tried to stop him from leaving.
The impact was so strong that it left her struggling to breathe and later resulted in two fractured ribs. Canlas also claimed that she had to drive herself to the hospital, where doctors confirmed her injuries.
Gee said, “And then his mom left me there. And then I very, very vividly remember this. It was New Year. Gumagapang ako sa CR kasi ‘yung pain meds ko masyadong malakas, so nasusuka ako. After nun, when I looked on Instagram and Facebook, they were partying in a family gathering as if walang nangyari.”
