2 Children in Kalibo Allegedly Tried to Take Unpaid Bags from Store
Two children were caught on CCTV allegedly attempting to take bags from a store along F. Quimpo Street in Poblacion, Kalibo.
On June 7, 2026, the incident was recorded by the establishment’s security cameras, showing the two children inside the store appearing to browse through the displayed bags. After spending some time inside, they were allegedly seen leaving the establishment while wearing bags that had not yet been paid for.
According to the store owner, a customer quickly noticed the suspicious behavior of the children and immediately informed the store staff. Because of the timely report, employees were able to act fast and catch up with the children before they got far from the area.

The bags were then successfully recovered and returned to the store. The store owner also shared that the mother of one of the children later visited the establishment. She explained that her child, who was wearing jogging pants, may have simply followed the other child, who was wearing a green shirt and was reportedly a frequent visitor to the store.
The mother also stated that her child is currently attending school. However, there is still no information available regarding whether the other child is also enrolled in school.
The store owner believes that the incident may have been the result of a childish prank or an impulsive act rather than a planned attempt to steal. It was also discovered that both children are residents of Laserna.
Despite the incident, the store owner decided not to file a formal complaint or record the matter at the Kalibo Police Station. With the bags immediately recovered and returned, the situation was resolved without further legal action.
