INTERPRETATION – An artist’s interpretation of an artwork elicited various reactions from the netizens on the social media.
An artwork is a craft which can be interpreted in different ways considering that every person is entitled to his or her own view of the art. While the artist has his or her own explanation of the art, the eyes that would land on it may see it in a different way.
Recently, an artwork was given interpretation by the artist on the Facebook page The Art of Ku Romillo. It is a sensitive painting but the artist believed that it is her “most significant painting”.
It is stated in the post that the artist received hate for the artwork, she was addressed as a “sinner,” and her post was even “reported.”
According to her, Baphomet is the transformation’s essence and the sign of “duality”. According to her, her artwork revolves on “truth and love betrayed by a world of misinformation and ignorance.”
Based on her post, the artwork centers on gender and racial equality. The artist stated that it is not in an artwork wherein the bad can be found rather it is in a friend who stabs and neighbor who gossips.
Furthermore, according to her, it is in the people who steal, those who feel envy, those who take the lives of the innocent ones, and those who are ignorant and hypocrites.
She also stated that bad is in the assumptions which are not right and the information which are not true.
“How you see this painting says more about you than you realize,” the artist stated.
The post went viral on the social media and has already reached more than twenty thousand shares. Lots of netizens dropped their reactions to the post via comments.
According to one netizen, it is a wonderful artwork and it “resonates” the world. He praised the artist for being brave in showing it to the people.
Another netizen praised the artist for coming up with the painting in a “religion-centered country”.
Meanwhile, there are some netizens who expressed disagreement towards what the artwork depicts.
According to one netizen, Adam and John or Eve and Mary were not created by the Almighty. He stressed that God created Adam and Eve and that there is no balance between evil and good.
Another netizen stated that the artist is utilizing her talent in the “wrong way”.
