Tricycle Driver Runs Amok After Being Caught w/ Illegal Drugs

A tricycle driver causes commotion in Barangay New Buswang, Kalibo, Aklan, after being caught with illegal drugs.

On Wednesday night, April 15, 2026, a man reportedly caused a disturbance following his arrest for illegal drugs. The suspect, known by the alias White, is a 26-year-old tricycle driver and a resident of Barangay Old Buswang in the same town.

According to authorities, he was the target of a buy-bust operation conducted to address illegal drug activities in the area.

During the operation, an undercover officer was able to purchase one sachet of suspected shabu from the suspect in exchange for P4,000. This transaction confirmed the illegal activity, leading to his immediate arrest.

However, things quickly escalated after he was caught. Reports said the man became aggressive and created a scene, drawing attention from nearby residents. Despite the situation, authorities were able to control him and proceed with the arrest.

A body search revealed more illegal items in his possession. Officers recovered ten additional sachets of suspected shabu, along with a small amount of suspected marijuana wrapped in paper and foil. Other non-drug items were also found during the search.

The suspect denied that the confiscated items belonged to him, even after the evidence was presented. Authorities also confirmed that this was not his first encounter with the law. He had previously been arrested for a similar offense but was able to go through plea bargaining at that time.

The latest incident means he will once again face serious charges. He is now set to be charged under Republic Act 9165, also known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002. The suspect is currently under police custody as legal proceedings are being prepared.
