Elderly Woman Staying at Fast Food Chain for Hours Touches Hearts of Online Community
An elderly woman staying for hours inside a branch of a popular fast-food chain in Cebu touches many hearts online.
Recently, allygailee, a TikTok user, shared photos of an 81-year-old woman staying overnight at a popular fast-food branch in Paseo Arcenas, Banawa. The post garnered various reactions from the online community.
According to the post, the woman had already been there since early evening. Even as time passed and customers came and went, she remained seated, quietly resting. The uploader and her companions left at nearly 10 in the evening, the elderly woman was still there.
The group learned that she planned to stay inside the restaurant until morning before returning to her family’s home. She had initially thought of staying near a nearby gas station, but she did not feel safe there, which led her to choose the fast-food place instead.
“She originally planned to stay near a Shell close to her family’s place, but she didn’t feel safe there… kaya she decided to stay at McDo instead,” the uploader said.
The uploader and her group offered food, biscuits, and a small amount of money to help her. Despite her condition, the elderly woman reportedly remained kind and even showed concern for those helping her.
Many netizens expressed worry and asked for updates about her condition. Some were relieved after a staff member from the fast-food branch shared that the woman is safe and often stays there at night to rest.
According to the crew member, the elderly woman usually leaves in the morning, though it is unclear where she goes during the day. Staff and some customers continue to extend help whenever they can.
