When it comes to fashion, Heart Evangelista is showing she’s far more than a familiar face in the front row. She is proving that she is a global force with real influence and heartfelt compassion. Previously, she attended Shanghai Fashion Week, and her recent milestones reflect a powerful mix of career excellence and genuine grace.
However, before she entirely embraced this career again after some time spent staying still, she called for rescue. Who was there to rescue her was her mother, Cecilia Ongpauco, and she is immensely grateful for the opportunity to grace fashion events with her.
According to her, this happened at a time when she greatly needed the push to continue doing what she loves, and the affirmation and validation from her mother gave her strength and inspiration to continue.
More than anything, she is deeply grateful for the chance to experience all of this together, especially the opportunity to travel side by side. Like many families, they’ve had their share of misunderstandings, but reconnecting with her mother has made her realize how much time was lost. Still, their renewed bond gives her hope, and she now looks forward to the moments they can continue to build together.
As she got older, she finally understood the ways her mother loved her. According to her, she’d be happy to turn back time to be able to spend more years with her mother.
“Thank you so much for loving me so much,” she expressed as her emotions started to transition.
She always knew that her mother would kill for her, and added, “Thank you dahil as years go by, hindi niya nakalimutan kung sino ako. Salamat kasi hindi ko talaga mararating ang mga narating ko ngayon kung hindi dahil sa kanya kasi kahit gaano ka-tough siya sa akin noon, anlaki ng inayos ng buhay ko.”
