BIMBY AQUINO – In a quiet yet powerful moment, Bimby Aquino touched hearts as he sang for a grieving family.
Bimby Aquino showed a heartfelt gesture of support for fashion designer JC Buendia during a difficult time, as he performed a touching song at the wake of Buendia’s mother. The young celebrity offered comfort through music, delivering a rendition of “Lead Me Lord” that left a lasting impression on those in attendance.
Buendia took to Instagram on Friday, March 20, to express his deep appreciation for both Bimby and his mother, Kris Aquino. Alongside his message, he shared a glimpse of the emotional performance, noting how meaningful the moment was for him and his family. He also revealed that the occasion marked a milestone for Bimby, as it was his first time singing in front of a public audience.

“I remember you from the day you were born Bimb… and tonight, you sang for my mom. Your voice felt like a prayer—soft, sincere, and full of love. I know she heard you,” Buendia said.
“Thank you for sharing your gift and your heart with us. It meant more than words can say. Especially because this was your first time to sing live in public,” he stated.
The designer also took a moment to reflect on his long-standing friendship with Kris Aquino, recalling how their bond began more than two decades ago.
“To my dearest Kris, has it really been 25 years since ‘Mano Po’ when we first met? You who made all this a reality from the time I asked you Sunday night and you said ‘huh a communion song?’” he said.
“Thank you for saying yes to my request, Bimb through those rehearsals on Monday and Tuesday with Coach Thor, and again on Tuesday with Gail and his soon-to-be-complete band (that’s according to his mom)…,” he added.
Buendia also shared how music has always played a special role in his friendship with Kris. “When my heart was broken, Kris always knew the perfect songs to heal it—she would even burn a CD for me, then fill an iPod, until we started sharing Spotify song lists.”
“Now, like you, I pray not just in hope, but in quiet trust— health wise for us there will be better days, for as long as we can walk… may your ‘lamp upon your feet’ shine brightly, guiding my mom home to God’s embrace. So many secrets that we’ve never revealed – that’s friendship and that’s loving unconditionally, in perpetuity,” he continued.
Bimby has recently been stepping into the spotlight, with veteran host Boy Abunda guiding him in his showbiz journey. He has also been honing his singing skills through vocal coaching sessions under Cornerstone Entertainment.
