SHOES – A photo of Philippine Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte went viral on the social media after netizens noticed the pair of shoes he wears.
Recently, a photo of Pres. Duterte posted on the Facebook Page Daily Duterte hooked the online community. In the photo, it could be seen that the Chief Executive is wearing a pair of shoes that is quite unusual to be matched with barong Tagalog.
The caption of the post is “Pambansang swagger!” More than four thousand netizens shared the viral post and lots of netizens dropped their reactions to the photo via comments.
Lots of netizens stated in their comments that the pair of shoes worn by the President is made in the Philippines. It is made out of pineapple fiber.
According to one netizen, the shoes worn by Pres. Duterte is a sign that the President loves the Philippines. One netizen stated in his comment that it was given during the “DA awarding” at the Palace.
One netizen expressed in her comment that the Philippine President is really very simple and humble while another netizen commented that the outfit of his long-time aide, Bong Go, is more formal than him.
“Mas maporma ang ang bodyguard nya pero ayos lng yan kesa iba jan paporma lng ang alam pero wlang utak alm nyo ba,” stated one netizen.
[His bodyguard dresses up more but that is okay compared to others out there who only knows how to dress up but have no brain.]
One Facebook user stated in his comment that he will follow the outfit of the President, whom he tagged as patriotic and cool, in case he will be invited to be a witness in a wedding ceremony.
According to one netizen, he owns the same pair of shoes with that of Pres. Duterte and he stated that it only costs P500 while another netizen stated in a comment that the pair of shoes is really durable.
Pres. Duterte is undeniably known for his simple outfits that usually resemble most of the Filipino people.
During the 2016 national election, based on a previous news report, the then-Mayor of Davao City went out as the victor in the presidential race against four other strong bets.
According to the report, the other presidential candidates were former Department of Interior and Local Government Sec. Mar Roxas, former Vice Pres. Jejomar Binay, Sen. Grace Poe, and the late Sen. Miriam Defensor-Santiago.
