Richard Gutierrez Breaks Silence on How Things Are w/ Sarah Lahbati Today
RICHARD GUTIERREZ – Kapamilya actor Richard Gutierrez recently gave fans a glimpse into his life as a father and how his co-parenting setup with Sarah Lahbati is going these days.
Richard Gutierrez is gearing up for his return to primetime television as he headlines the upcoming series Blood vs Duty on ABS-CBN alongside fellow actor Gerald Anderson. The action-packed show has already begun intensive taping, and Richard shared that the production team has been working tirelessly to bring the project to life.
According to the actor, filming for the series has been demanding but fulfilling. They have already completed several scenes and action sequences since taping started last month. A teaser clip for Blood vs Duty was released on Wednesday night, giving fans a glimpse of what to expect from the series.
Richard admitted he is thrilled for viewers to see more of their hard work. “I’m so excited, marami pa kaming mga eksena, gusto ko ngang ipakita doon sa teaser, I’m so excited to show people what we’ve done. Pero so far, teaser muna.”
The actor also revealed how physically intense the production has been for him and the rest of the cast. “We’ve done a lot of taping days already, we’ve done a lot of work. Marami na kaming sleepless nights, marami na kaming action scenes na ginawa. Ilang beses na rin akong nagpamasahe dahil sa sakit ng katawan ko sa taping. But more than anything, nakikita namin yung ginawa namin so at the end of the day, we’ve done something good.”
Despite his packed schedule, Richard ensures that he still spends meaningful time with his children, Zion and Kai, whom he shares with his former partner, Sarah Lahbati. The actor shared that he encourages his kids to stay active and pursue different interests.
“Yung kids ko, they have a lot of activities. I tried to line up activities for them. They’re into sports—basketball. Recently, nagstart na sila ng boxing. I tried to get them into martial arts as well. I also want them to focus on their academics. I try to mix and match with them, but obviously they’re kids so they want their ipads. May iPad time naman sila.”
When asked about his current co-parenting arrangement with Sarah, Richard said things are going smoothly for their family.
“Okay naman, we have equal time with the kids. So far, everything is okay naman.”
Meanwhile, Richard was recently introduced as the newest and first ambassador of a gaming application. While celebrity endorsements of gaming platforms have faced criticism due to concerns about gambling, the actor shared that he carefully listened to the company’s goals before accepting the role.
“You’re right. This is a very controversial thing right now. I listened to them (gaming app operator). I really wanted to listen to their mission and their goals. And I was very surprised with the committment that they have sa responsible gaming. That’s what they really want to push here and to keep everything balanced.”
Acknowledging the risks associated with gambling, Richard emphasized the importance of promoting responsible play.
“I hear stories about it, so it’s very important to remind people that we cannot stop this platform. The platform will always be there… I think what’s important here is spreading the message and creating awareness to enjoy, have fun, but be responsible din.”
