In a recent interview, the actor shared that the small cats passed away on March 21, 2026, due to parvovirus. It was a devastating experience for him, as he treats his pets like his own children. At the same time, it was difficult for him to cope with their sudden passing.
“It’s hard. Mga anak ko sila. Parang ang feeling ko, sobrang irresponsible ko na tao when that happened,” he expressed.
He felt guilty, believing that he could have done more to protect them, but with that experience, he has learned a lot about how to take care of his other cats better. He realized the importance of ensuring the health and safety of his animals.
To cope, he chooses to focus on the happy moments he spent with the kittens rather than dwelling on the pain. He still has 13 cats left under his care and continues his advocacy for rescuing stray animals.
Despite having a lot of cats, he can name them all. It’s quite expensive when it comes to their food and vitamins, but it surely is all worth it for him to see them healthy, secure, and happy.
“I make an effort to spread awareness because a couple of days ago, merong kumalat na video ng mga bata na inilagay nila sa sako yung cat. Pinagsusuntok nila, sinipa nila. It really broke my heart,” he said.
