Trillionaire Claim Questioned as Francis Leo Marcos Lands in Parañaque Jail
FRANCISCO LEO MARCOS – Controversial vlogger Francis Leo Marcos is now under BJMP custody in Parañaque after a court ordered his transfer when he did not pay his P120,000 bail.
The custody of vlogger Norman Mangusin, more popularly known as Francis Leo Marcos, has officially been transferred to the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) facility in Parañaque City after he failed to post bail on Thursday, February 26.
According to Napolcom Vice Chairperson and Executive Officer Commissioner Rafael Calinisan, the police received a commitment order from the Regional Trial Court Branch 294 directing authorities to move the social media personality to the BJMP facility within Parañaque’s jurisdiction.
“I was informed that there is an order issued by the RTC Branch 294 committing si Mangusin to be transferred to the BJMP in Parañaque City. So it was just signed and we received that order today February 26,” Calinisan stated.
As this was a court directive, the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG), which currently had custody of the vlogger, was obligated to immediately implement the order upon receipt.
Mangusin was arrested on Tuesday, February 24, in connection with 12 counts of unjust vexation filed against him by fellow vlogger Makagago. The charges stem from alleged actions that were reportedly committed publicly.
“Actually, sa totoo, nagtataka ako. P120,000 lang ‘yung piyansang pinag-uusapan dito and it appears hindi siya nag piyansa or hindi niya nakayanan mag piyansa,” Calinisan said.
He further added, “Hindi siya nakapagpiyansa, therefore ililipat siya sa BJMP so that is suprising kasi he claims he is a trillionaire. He claims he is extremely rich and yet he cannot afford or choose not bail himself out just for P120,000 bail.”
Calinisan clarified that the transfer should not be interpreted as a form of punishment. Instead, it is a procedural move placing Mangusin under BJMP custody within the court’s jurisdiction while the case proceeds.
Addressing criticism that the press conference surrounding the arrest was intended to humiliate Mangusin, Calinisan responded, “Siguro hindi na ko kailangan mag-comment dyan, nandiyan na ‘yan. And mahaba ang listahan ni Mangusin sa publiko, publicly.
Self-explanatory. The offense that Mangusin did was committed publicly against these multiple people.”
As of now, the vlogger remains under custody while awaiting full transfer processing to the BJMP facility.
