Sen. Imee Marcos Acts on Claims of 19 Philippine Marines Personnel
IMEE MARCOS – The Senator called for a Senate public hearing on the alleged money deliveries to President Bongbong Marcos and Leyte Congressman Martin Romualdez among others.
The flood control issue in the Philippines has yet to be resolved. The Senate Blue Ribbon Committee pursued its own investigation on the issue despite the creation of the Independent Commission for Infrastructure or ICI.

The ICI was created upon the order of Pres. Bongbong Marcos. However, PBBM himself was dragged in the flood control mess after former Ako Bicol Partylist Representative Zaldy Co accused him of allegedly receiving kickback from the flood control projects.
Presidential cousin and Leyte Cong. Martin Romualdez was also accused by contractors Curlee and Sara Discaya and other personalities of allegedly receiving kickback from the flood control deals. Zaldy Co also accused him of alleged budget insertion and kickback.

Previously, amid the issues regarding the flood control report of the Senate Blue Ribbon Committee, the panel’s chairman, Senate President Pro Tempore Ping Lacson confirmed that the committee will not recommend a flood control probe versus Cong. Martin Romualdez. Recently, the names of the President and the former House Speaker were dragged anew into the alleged corruption in the government.

Based on a post of Inquirer, 19 personnel of the Philippine Marines claimed that they allegedly delivered money to several personalities including Pres. Bongbong Marcos, former House Speaker Martin Romualdez, former Ako Bicol Party-list Rep. Zaldy Co, and the International Criminal Court (ICC).
Recently, presidential sister and Sen. Imee Marcos filed a resolution seeking for a Senate public hearing into the alleged money deliveries by the Philippine marine personnel to several individuals including her own brother, Pres. Bongbong Marcos. Based on the post, there are suggestions that it would allegedly be better if it will be filed before the Ombudsman.

During the press conference, Sen. Imee Marcos also reacted to the announcement of Vice Pres. Sara Duterte that she will run for president in 2028. According to her, the Vice President probably did it to uplift the spirit of the Duterte supporters but also believes that Duterte is serious about what she said.
Previously, Sen. Imee Marcos also spoke on Vice Pres. Sara Duterte announcing her 2028 presidential bid.
