MalacaƱang Palace Speaks on Health Condition of Marcos Jr.

The MalacaƱang Palace sees no need to release a medical bulletin of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. following his recent hospitalization.

Pres. Bongbong Marcos was recently hospitalized after experiencing some discomfort. His doctors advised him to be under a medical observation. He was brought to St. Luke’s Medical Center in Quezon City.

Following his medical observation for a night, MalacaƱang confirmed that Marcos Jr. was immediately discharged from the hospital and returned to the Palace. The President also personally relayed the doctors’ findings on his health condition.

According to Pres. Bongbong Marcos, the doctors diagnosed him with diverticulitis. Medically, it refers to the inflammation or infection in the large intestine. The President linked it to stress and aging but assured that he is well.

Following his recent hospitalization, the President is no show in some events that he was invited. Presidential son and Ilocos Norte Congressman Sandro Marcos and Executive Secretary Ralph Recto stood in his behalf. According to the Palace, Pres. Bongbong Marcos was advised by his doctors to slow down so he limited his engagements inside the MalacaƱang while he is recovering.

However, rumors that Marcos Jr. is allegedly set to undergo an operation circulated online following the recent hospitalization of the President. The St. Luke’s hospital released a statement denying the alleged medical reports of Marcos Jr. circulating online.

Recently, MalacaƱang admitted that they see no need to release a medical bulletin of Pres. Ferdinand Marcos Jr. Based on a report on Inquirer, Palace press officer Atty. Claire Castro stressed that a medical bulletin is allegedly needed only in serious diseases.

“Sa ating pagkakaalam pag naglabas ng medical bulletin dapat serious illness. Kung sinabi ng Pangulo na hindi ito life-threatening, bakit kakailanganin ngayon ang medical bulletin samantalang kami ay nagp-provide sa inyo ng kalagayan ng kalusugan ng Pangulo?” Castro said.

Furthermore, based on the report, Atty. Claire Castro insisted that the statement of Pres. Bongbong Marcos is allegedly “more reliable” as he’s the one experiencing it. According to the Palace official, the doctors of the President is asking him to rest but he already attended an event as well as had private meetings.

“Mas reliable po siguro na ang Pangulo ang nagsasabi ng kaniyang nararamdaman… Katawan naman nya po yun,” Castro said.

Recently, the Presidential Communications Office released a video of the Palace official’s recent interview with Pres. Bongbong Marcos wherein he asserted that he is ‘ok’.
