Amid #TinoPH, PAGASA Issues Advisory on Possible Storm Surge
PAGASA – The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration warned of possible storm surge in 30 areas in Visayas and Mindanao amid the wrath of Severe Tropical Storm Tino in the Philippines.
The Philippines is one of the countries that is usually hit by several typhoons in a year. Following typhoon Paolo that hit the country last October 3, severe Tropical Storm Tino is expected to bring heavy rains to several areas in the nation after it has already entered the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR).

Amid any calamity, it is important to be updated with the advisories released by the concerned government agencies. PAGASA previously warned that Typhoon Tino can rapidly intensify. The storm is expected to hit several areas in Visayas and Mindanao.

Recently, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration issued an advisory over the possible storm surge in several areas in Visayas and in Mindanao. According to the state bureau, there is a high-risk of life-threatening storm surge which may occur in the next 48 hours.
Furthermore, according to PAGASA, there might be inundation from the rising sea water along with the high waves in the low-lying coastal communities in the following provinces and municipalities:

Based on a post of DOST-PAGASA on social media, the public and the disaster risk reduction and management offices are advised to take the proper actions toward the situation and to exhibit precautionary measures. The state bureau advises the public to stay away from the coastal areas, cancel all water activities, move to higher grounds or farther in land, and monitor the updates from PAGASA.
Recently, PAGASA confirmed that #TinoPH can possibly become a super typhoon. Signal No. 2 is up in several areas in Visayas.
