The Philippine adaptation of the hit South Korean drama “It’s Okay To Not Be Okay” stars Anne Curtis, Joshua Garcia, and Carlo Aquino in the leads. As of this writing, the series is still ongoing, and recently, one of the scenes they did, also an icon from the original, went viral.

The story centers on Mia Hernandez (Anne), a well-known yet antisocial and strong-willed children’s book author; Patrick “Pat-Pat” Gonzales (Joshua), a soft-spoken, patient, and kind hospital worker; and his older brother Matthew “Mat-Mat” Gonzales (Carlo), who is on the autism spectrum and harbors a fear of butterflies.

In the iconic pillow fight, Anne and Carlo were able to pull it off, and people online were amazed that it became viral. The scene is one of the popular K-Drama’s most iconic moments, and according to Aquino, his mother reacted to it, and that a lot of people have messaged him.

He shared that his mother joined the fans to see the turnout of the moment in the PH adaptation. Aquino shared, “Yung nanay ko, nagalit — masyado raw malakas ang palo ko kay Anne Buti na lang, nilabas ‘yung BTS (behind the scenes), so nakita  na sabi ni Anne, dito, dito, sa ulo nga.”

As for the actress, she is happy because the particular scene received positive comments. She was all praises for Aquino for his performance in the series and highlighted his depiction of Matmat, as it shed light on the spectrum.

“[I’m] happy, pero sana ‘yung message na ‘wag sana silang i-discriminate, kasi high-functioning naman sila. Kailangan lang ipaliwanag yung iba sa kanila para maintindihan nila kung nasaang sitwasyon sila,” Aquino said about his role.
