In an interview, actor James Reid shares what he and ex-girlfriend Nadine Lustre do whenever they cross paths publicly.
In 2020, James Reid and Nadine Lustre broke up, confirming it through a joint statement. Their real-life split also resulted in the disbandment of their love team. It was a mutual decision, and while it happened years ago already, many of their fans still linger in hopes of their reunion.
In an interview with Karen Davila, James openly reflected on his past with Nadine and shared his gratitude for everything they experienced during that chapter of their lives. He admitted that the success and fame of their love team became overwhelming, eventually turning toxic for both of them.
This realization led him to pursue his passion independently, choosing to stay away from love teams that could once again blur the line between reality and public assumptions.
“It was mentally stressful for me and Nadine, and it opened up a lot of toxic kind of behavior with the audience. But I think we’ve all learned a lot since then,” he expressed as he spoke about the downsides that came with the success and fame.
When asked about him and Nadine now, he revealed that they still greet each other whenever they cross paths publicly. There’s no problem between them, and they are civil toward each other.
“I’ve seen her a few times, and we’re civil. There’s no problem, certainly with me. I wish her all the best. She seems very happy,” he said in the interview.
In a previous article, James talked about working with Nadine again, and according to him, this no longer seems to be the case. He’s no longer interested in working within a love team setup in general.
