SARA DUTERTE – The Vice President spoke about her recent overseas trips as well as the Marcos administration.
After several days, Vice Pres. Duterte is now back in the Philippines from Melbourne, Australia as confirmed by the Office of the Vice President. In abroad, she attended the “Free Duterte Now” rally and spoke to the Filipino community about her father’s case.

Vice Pres. Sara Duterte even convinced the Filipinos in Australia to talk to the foreign government and convince it to investigate the case of former Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte who is currently detained under the International Criminal Court in The Hague. Australia is one of the country-members of the ICC.
However, with her recent overseas trip, many people noticed the frequent travels of the Vice President abroad. She has been to four (4) countries in less than a month.

Vice Pres. Duterte flew to Doha, Qatar after the 2025 Midterm Elections to meet with the Filipinos there. She then went to The Hague, Netherlands for scheduled visits to her father, former Pres. Rodrigo Duterte. She also attended a Philippine Independence Day celebration in Malaysia with senators Robin Padilla and Imee Marcos.

In Malaysia, Sen. Robin Padilla even called Vice Pres. Sara Duterte the “next president of the Philippines”. According to him, he will be the campaign manager of the Vice President and Sen. Imee Marcos in 2028.
After the OVP confirmed the trip of Vice Pres. Duterte in Australia, the side of Malacañang regarding the frequent overseas trips of the second-highest official in the government was sought. She has been to four (4) countries in less than a month.
Malacañang was asked about the possible violation that Vice Pres. Sara Duterte may be committing with her frequent travels abroad. According to Palace press undersecretary Claire Castro, the Vice President may be violating her obligations to the people.
Recently, Vice Pres. Sara Duterte asserted that when she is on a personal trip, she allegedly does not use public funds but she continues to work. Based on a report on ABS-CBN News, the Vice President stressed that a personal trip does not mean a holiday or for vacation.
“Kapag personal, hindi ako gumagamit ng pera ng bayan… Hindi ibig sabihin na personal na lakad yan, holiday o pamamasyal yan. Walang ginamit na pera ng gobyerno sa lakad na ito pero nagtratrabaho pa rin ako,” the Vice President said.
Based on the report, Vice Pres. Sara Duterte added that it is under an official trip when the public funds are being used. She also took swipe against the Marcos administration over the matter.
“Hindi ko alam kung sinasadya nilang wag intindihin o bobo lang yung nasa administrasyon. I like to believe the latter,” Duterte said.
Vice Pres. Sara Duterte previously claimed she does not like traveling except for the holidays and her trip in Australia was not a holiday. She also previously confirmed that the lawyers of former Pres. Duterte are eyeing Australia for his interim release.
