Vic Sotto is very supportive of his son’s political career
Eat Bulaga host Vic Sotto reacted to the good governance that his son Pasig City Mayor Vico Sotto has been showing to his constituents.
Mayor Vico is one of the most popular political figures nowadays. His popularity goes beyond Pasig City not just because he is a son of famous celebrities but mainly because of what he is doing as a public servant.
The young mayor has been receiving praise and admiration even from people from other cities and provinces. Aside from the massive support he gets from his constituents who are thankful for his good governance, Mayor Vico also has his supportive parents.
Vic Sotto and Coney Reyes have been there for their son’s political endeavors. The veteran showbiz personalities would accompany their son during the filing of the certificate of candidacy, join the campaign events, and celebrate his win.
In a recent interview, based on the article in PEP, Vic Sotto couldn’t be prouder of his son. When asked if he thinks his son would opt to run for a higher position next elections, as this is his last term as a mayor.
“E, it’s up to him. Ang desisyon nasa kanya,” the veteran comedian-host said. Previously, Vico was asked if he aimed to run for a national position and he dismissed this. He said that he is focused on serving the people of Pasig.
Vic proudly mentioned the real good governance that his son has been exhibiting in his terms as Pasig City Mayor. “May prinsipyo, may paninindigan, may political will, na good governance talaga. Yung totoong good governance, hindi yung kuwento-kuwentuhan na good governance,” the proud father of Mayor Vico said.
Then, Vic said that he hoped that the next president of the Philippines would have the same aim to deliver good governance.
To recall, in one of Mayor Vico’s campaign events, Vic introduced his son as “the next president.” With what the young mayor has done, he became an example of good governance.
“E, dapat lang. I mean, hindi naman sa pagyayabang, pero matindi yung napatunayan niya sa Pasig, e.” Vic said about this. The Eat Bulaga host also said that if the leaders of the country really want to stop corruption, then it could be possible and they just have to stand firm with this.
When asked what could be the next thing to happen for Mayor Vico since it is his last term, Vic enthused, “E, usap tayo after three years.”
