Here’s what Trillanes and De Lima said about the arrest of Rodrigo Duterte.
Former senators Antonio Trillanes IV and Leila de Lima reacted to the arrest of former president Rodrigo Duterte.
On Tuesday, the Palace confirmed the arrest of PRRD, or former President Rodrigo Duterte. The Presidential Communications Office (PCO) said that the International Criminal Police Organization (Interpol)—Manila has received the official copy of the arrest warrant.

Duterte landed back in Manila from Hong Kong around 10:30 AM, and upon his arrival, the Prosecutor General Richard Anthony Fadullon served the notification due to the alleged crimes of the former president against humanity during the war of drugs under his administration.
PNP officials served the arrest warrant, and they had the body camera while doing the arrest.
Former senators Antonio Trillanes IV and Leila de Lima are among the staunchest critics of Duterte and what happened to the country under his leadership. They reacted to the arrest that happened on Tuesday.

“After 8 years, sa WAKAS, nahuli na rin ang berdugo,” Trillanes said in a post on X, formerly Twitter.
As for De Lima, the arrest was deeply personal for her. She recalled the time she spent behind bars on charges that she said were for retribution for her acts of investigating the alleged extrajudicial killings. She was previously cleared of the charges

“Today, Duterte is being made to answer—not to me, but to the victims, to their families, to a world that refuses to forget. This is not about vengeance. This is about justice finally taking its course.”
She added that the former president now has to be held accountable not before the public opinion but before the rule of law. It is accordingly just and rightful for those in power to be held to the same standards as everyone else.
