She is a Siargao-based surf photographer whose every click brings the island’s surf culture life to pieces unforgettable. Her name was first heard when she was dragged into the issue of Andi Eigenmann and Philmar Alipayo. She was the one who had this matching tattoo with Philmar which hurt Andi as such action and among the other things she did that involved their relationship have crossed boundaries.
Who is Pernilla Sjoo?
She was born on December 6, 1985. She is a Swedish photographer, drone pilot, and athlete. Her life practically is all about the ocean and island living. Sjoo first gained popularity among sports enthusiasts as an underwater photographer.
She loved diving and later on, turned her passions into something she could do with purpose. She spent years learning underwater photography and invested money in the right equipment. Pernilla is also immersed in surf photography. Her life in Siargao is indeed a perfect venue for her passion and it is no surprise at all when she falls in love with the island.
In October 2013, she left Sweden with a one-way ticket and 30 kilos of luggage. She set out for a new adventure and found a home in the Philippines.
In 2021, she was based in Anilao, Batangas. She worked as the General Manager of Solitude Acacia Resort, a resort famous for its world-class diving spots.
In 2022, she was a Padel coach at the Manila Padel Club.
In May 2023, she became the guest relations manager at Greenhouse Siargao Eco Retreat and Cafe.
As an underwater photographer, she captured a lot of beautiful things and even worked with famous people. She is close to Derek Ramsay and has photographed Dennis Trillo, Jennylyn Mercado, Ella Pangilinan, Gretchen Fullido, Mark Leviste, and Joanne Villablanca-Veridiano
