Here’s what Kathryn Bernardo said about the shift in her roles.
Kapamilya superstar Kathryn Bernardo has this to say about her “Joy” and “Marie” roles on “Hello, Love, Again”.
The much-anticipated sequel of “Hello, Love, Goodbye” is coming to cinemas this November 13 called “Hello, Love, Again“. The sequel also reunited Kathryn Bernardo and Alden Richards five years following the successful release of the first part.
HLG, as much as we all know, became the top-grossing film in the Philippines until “Rewind” came and claimed the top spot.
“One more hello or one last goodbye?” was the film’s stirring question and one thing to also look forward to was the transition of Joy to Marie. Joy is the role being played by Bernardo and recently, she spoke about this surprising element in their upcoming film.
What is the difference of Joy and Marie?
In a press conference, Bernardo expressed that Joy and Marie are just the same people – persevered and determined to achieve their dreams. The only thing she had to do was just to add some twists to the role in order to put a distinction between life in Hong Kong and life in Canada.
Joy’s work in Hong Kong was physically exhausting as a domestic helper but Marie’s life in Canada left her with no pride as a healthcare worker.
Describing Marie, she said, “Siya ‘yung klase ng taong walang pride, walang anything. Kung kakakitaan niya ng pera, no problem but this time as healthcare worker naman na iba ring mundo ‘to.”
For her, she can relate more to Marie as they have similar personalities. As per her, Marie has gone through a lot of things and experienced a lot that made her forget the Joy that she was before.
As to the reason why she had to change names and more, she encouraged the people to watch the sequel to know.
