Mom Shares Concern After Beggar Threw Bread Her Child Gave: ‘NOT ALL BEGGARS DESERVE HELP’

A concerned mom expresses frustrations after a beggar threw the bread her child gave, saying, ‘NOT ALL BEGGARS DESERVE HELP’.

Recently, a Facebook user named Nesha Fda shared an upsetting experience involving her child and a beggar. The post quickly went viral on social media and sparked various reactions from netizens.

Nesha recounted how, during a drive, they encountered an old beggar and a teenager at an intersection. Wanting to help, Nesha asked her son, Nicolai, to give them their packed lunch. The next day, when they passed by the same spot, Nicolai noticed the beggar again and, without being asked, offered the last piece of bread from his snack.

However, the beggar threw the bread back at them, accompanied by a dismissive and rude comment, saying they didn’t accept bread. This left Nicolai deeply hurt, and he began to cry. Confused and upset, Nicolai tried to make sense of what happened, wondering if the beggar thought the bread was already eaten.

The concerned mom explained to her son that while not everyone may appreciate their kindness, it’s still important to help others whenever they can. She reassured Nicolai that his gesture of sharing was valuable, even if it was rejected.

Despite her words of comfort, Nesha was heartbroken to see her child’s kindness met with rejection, especially since Nicolai had taken the initiative to offer his food without being prompted.

NOT ALL BEGGARS DESERVE HELP.

Yesterday when we passed by the intersection at Homesite, there was an old beggar with a teenager who knocked at our car window. Since we had extra food left I asked Nicolai to hand our packed lunch to them. Later that night, I mentioned “Colai happy kag busog gid to guro ang gin gaan mo food gina…”, his eyes lit up.

Today when we passed by the same area I told him “Colai, ara sila gyapon o.” I never asked Nicolai to do anything but he broke his 1 pandesal left from his baon, opened the window and handed it to the old man. The old man THREW BACK THE PANDESAL and said with an EVIL SMIRK (also the teenager he was with), “TINAPAY? WALA KAMI YA GABATON TINAPAY!” I replied, “Kamo na gapangayo bulig, kamo pa pilian.”

Nicolai suddenly cried after I closed the window. He was VERY HURT. He had so many questions, so I just explained not everyone deserves our help, but we should still choose to help. He said “Mommy, basi abi niya nakan-an ko na to ang pandesal?” Bata pa ang nag justify!!!!

I have never seen my child this hurt after his dad left. My mom bones are shaking, and I wanted to cry with him too. Imagine your child’s initiative to share, rejected.
