PAGASA Says Northeasterly Windflow To Bring Rains Over Parts of PH

PAGASA LATEST UPDATE – The state weather bureau reported that northeasterly windflow will bring cloudy to rainy conditions over parts of the country.

On Thursday (October 10, 2024), the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration released the latest weather update in the country. The northeasterly windflow will affect the country’s weather conditions.

PAGASA weather specialist Benison Estareja reported that northeasterly windflow would bring slightly cooler temperatures in northern Luzon, along with occasional light to heavy rainfall. It will bring cloudy skies with rains over extreme Northern Luzon, Batanes, Apayao, and Cagayan.

“Ngayong araw po asahan ang maulang panahon dito sa may northern Luzon lalo na sa Batanes, Apayao, at Cagayan dahil pa rin yan sa northeasterly wind flow. Meron tayong mahina hanggang sa kung minsan malalakas na ulan kaya mag-ingat po sa banta ng baha at pagguho ng lupa,” said Estareja.

The localized thunderstorms will bring partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms over Metro Manila and the rest of the country.

However, the weather agency has warned the residents in the affected areas to take precautionary measures for possible flash floods or landslides during severe thunderstorms.

Estareja said that no new weather disturbances are expected to enter the Philippine area of responsibility until the weekend.

Wala tayong nakikitang bagong weather disturbance, mapa low pressure area man o bagyo na papasok ng ating Philippine area of responsibility hanggang sa matapos ang weekend,” Estareja added.

Meanwhile, the coastal water conditions over the eastern sections of Luzon, Visayas, and the rest of the country will be slight to moderate, according to PAGASA. No gale warning was raised over any of the country’s seaboard.
