PAGASA Releases Latest Weather Update for Wednesday (September 18, 2024)
PAGASA LATEST UPDATE – The state weather bureau reported that Tropical Storm Helen will bring rains over parts of the country.
On Wednesday (September 18, 2024), the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical Astronomical Services Administration released the latest weather update in the country. Tropical Storm Helen will affect the country’s weather condition.
PAGASA reported that Tropical Storm Helen continues to move west northwestward over the Philippine Sea as Tropical Depression Gener exited the Philippine Area of Responsibility.
Tropical Storm Helen was last spotted at 1,150 kilometers east northeast of extreme Northern Luzon. It has maximum sustained winds of 85 kilometers per hour and gustiness of up to 105 kph, and central pressure of 992 hPa. It is moving west northwestward at the speed of 25 kph.
Meanwhile, Gener was last located at 410 kilometers west of Bacnotan, La Union packing maximum sustained winds of 55 kph and gustiness of up to 70 kph.
The southwest monsoon will bring occasional rains over the rest of MIMAROPA, the rest of Western Visayas, Batangas, Zambales, Bataan, and Pangasinan.
Habagat will bring cloudy weather condition with scattered rains and thunderstorms over Metro Manila, Zamboanga Peninsula, BARMM, Caraga, Northern Mindanao, Cordillera Administrative Region, Bicol Region, and the rest of Visayas, CALABARZON, Central Luzon, and Ilocos Region.
It will also bring partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms over the remaining parts of the country.
The coastal water condition over the western section of Southern Luzon and Visayas will be rough. The rest of Luzon and Visayas will have moderate to rough surrounding sea conditions.
“Throughout the forecast period, Helen will remain far from the Philippine landmass and will not directly affect any part of the country,” PAGASA said.
