Did you know that “Feng Shui” was first offered to Judy Ann Santos?
The first choice for the 2004 film “Feng Shui” was Judy Ann Santos but her late manager refused to accept it for her.
A horror movie many people love and hate, at the same time, is “Feng Shui” which was shown in 2004 starring Kris Aquino, the “Philippine Cinema’s Horror Queen”. It has a solid pacing and viewers loved how the traditional beliefs blended well with the modern horror elements.
The storyline kept them engaged and not with the jump scares; with every heartbeat, there were plots and twists they could not miss. Until today, this film remains one of the most notable and iconic horror entries in the Philippine cinema. This is the film that gave many adults of today the trauma of looking at themselves in a bagwa.
It was successful and so iconic that in 2014, a sequel was made starring Aquino and Coco Martin.
However, the film was actually first offered to Queen Of Drama Judy Ann Santos.
This year, she and “Feng Shui” director Chito Rono are doing “Espantaho”, a horror project that got her excited. It’s been a while since she made horror films as mostly, she does action and drama or a combination of both.
The last horror film she did was “T’yanak” in 2014, the reboot of 1988 classic “Tiyanak”.
She received a call from the director early this year and immediately, she said “yes” to the offer even without knowing the other artists she’s gonna be working with.
“Yung wala pang ano, walang, hindi… wala pang casting, wala pang lahat, sabi niya, ‘Okay ka?’ ‘Oo naman! Ikaw pa ba? Ituloy na natin ito.’ Kasi nga, hindi kami natuloy sa Feng Shui,” she said.
Alfie Lorenzo, her late manager, refused to accept this project for her and it was then given to Aquino.
