American Vlogger IShowSpeed Shows Hilarious Reactions After Filipino Joke Claiming His Siopao Contains Cat Meat
American vlogger IShowSpeed was surprised after some Filipinos jokingly said that the filling of the siopao he was eating was “meow meow”.
Recently, the popular American vlogger IShowSpeed made rounds online during his visit to the Philippines. Known for his humorous personality, the public figure, whose real name is Darren Jason Watkins Jr., arrived in the Philippines.
The content creator immediately engaged with fans through a YouTube livestream. During a three-hour stream titled “irl stream in Philippines,” he explored Metro Manila and tried local foods.
At one point, he tried siopao, a popular Filipino steamed bun, from a local shop. Some bystanders joked that the siopao contained “meow meow,” a term for cat meat, causing a moment of surprise for the American vlogger.
However, he was quickly reassured that the siopao was made with pork and other traditional ingredients.
The guy who told Speed that his siopao contained cat meat was identified as Kiel Henery. His joke makes him earn the nickname ‘Boy Meow Meow.’
In addition to food adventures, the foreign vlogger played basketball with a fan who later gifted him a LeBron James jersey. He also took a ride in a traditional ‘kalesa’ around Manila. Despite some challenges, like struggling with a high basketball hoop and being briefly overwhelmed by a large crowd, he enjoyed his time in the country.
There was also a minor controversy when he forgot to return a helmet borrowed from a ride-hailing rider, which netizens pointed out during the livestream.
Overall, IShowSpeed’s visit was a success, earning him over 100,000 new subscribers and a warm reception from Filipino fans.
He also tried local treats like Sago’t Gulaman and spicy siomai, and hinted at future collaborations, including a possible livestream with boxing legend Manny Pacquiao.
