Here’s the answer of Gerald Anderson when asked about this.
Will Gerald Anderson soon join the cluster of celebrities who turned politicians? This is the answer of the actor.
In the modern times, the line between politics and celebrity went from vague to being transparent although this is not new anymore. A lot of famous celebrities have turned politicians to serve the people in a different manner – different from the entertainment they are serving the public.
Previously, among the prominent figures spotted during the Typhoon Carina to rescue stranded people is Kapamilya actor Gerald Anderson. His celebrity status made him stood out among those who helped but this recognition was something he humbly shared with other rescuers who did not hesitate to help during that difficult time.
When asked about joining the politics to help more people, the actor shared how he perceives public service.
According to him, he’s okay with what he has and where he is right now because from that point, he is still able to learn. He’s already happy about it and he’s grateful for the opportunities as it allowed him to help in ways he can.
One of his motivations now is to work harder to maintain his status as a celebrity. He believes that being a celebrity was one of the biggest help for advocacy and as much as possible, he uses his platform for the right purpose.
He believes being a politician holds more power and more impact but with being a celebrity, he thinks he still gets that same kind of power.
