Vice Pres. Sara Duterte Requests for Family’s Safety
SARA DUTERTE – The Vice President called on her allies and supporters for the protection of her family following the recall of her PNP security detail.
A few days ago, Vice Pres. Duterte confirmed the relief of 75 cops assigned for her security. According to the Philippine National Police, they coordinated with the Office of the Vice President over the recall of the VP’s security detail due to the insufficient police workforce in the National Capital Region (NCR).
Vice Pres. Duterte assured the public that the recall of her PNP security detail will not affect her work. However, the statements of PNP chief Rommel Francisco Marbil after the recall of the cops did not sit well with the Vice President.
Vice Pres. Sara Duterte issued an open letter for PNP chief Rommel Marbil. She emphasized the alleged lies in the statements of the PNP Chief regarding the alleged threats to her life and the alleged request from the PNP to the OVP on the relief of her security detail.
In her open letter, the Vice President said that there was no request made to the OVP. She claimed that they were just informed about the recall of her PNP security detail. She also debunked Marbil’s statement that there was no threats against her citing the circulation of the malicious video taken at the airport.
Vice Pres. Sara Duterte recently left the Philippines for a personal trip with her family abroad. Videos and photos of the Vice President at the airport circulated online. It earned her backlash as it was in time for the onslaught of Typhoon Carina in Metro Manila.
Recently, Vice Pres. Sara Duterte expressed her gratitude to her allies in the Senate who showed concern for her security. Sen. Bato dela Rosa encouraged the PNP and the AFP personnel to provide additional security for the Vice President.
She thanked Senators Bato dela Rosa, Bong Go, and Robin Padilla; the AFP and PNP personnel; women; and the ordinary citizens who responded to the call of Sen. Bato.
Vice Pres. Sara Duterte told her allies and supporters that they don’t need to worry and contribute money for her security. She stressed that public service is offering one’s life. However, she made a request for her family.
In her statement, the Vice President asks for the safety of her family. She requests her allies and supporters not to allow any harm to her mother, husband, and four children whether personal or online.
“At kung sakali man, huwag ninyong palampasin ang sinumang gagawa ng kapahamakan laban sa kanila,” Duterte said.
