Here’s the open letter Awra Briguela wrote and posted.
AWRA BRIGUELA – Months after the Poblacion brawl, the comedian and social media influencer has this open letter written.
Almost a year after Awra Briguela got involved in a brawl in Makati, the comedian opened up about this issue through a vlog with Vice Ganda. It was an incident that was talked about in the whole country.
In the vlog, he expressed that since that incident, he is now better and stronger. He owned up to his mistakes. He did not expect for the altercation to occur but he admitted that he used to love nightlife to forget the problems.
“In short, tinatakbuhan ko ang problems ko. Hindi ko siya hinaharap. Noong nangyari siya sa’kin, hindi ako makapaniwala,” he said.
Following the vlog is an open letter he wrote for the people who got disappointed, who got involved, who once believed in him, his family, and to himself.
First, he addressed the issue he had with his family and apologized for neglecting the issues the way he did. Instead of facing the problems and fix them, he chose to turn his back on them, run, and have fun with other people. He knew how hard it must have been for them to see him in that kind of miserable situation.
He also apologized for changing and asked for a second to do better and be better for them.
To the people involved, he asked for forgiveness again and took accountability and full responsibility to what has transpired. They have already ironed the issues out but he expressed to carry everything that happened with him as a learning experience.
To the people he let down, he asked for apology and expressed his gratitude for them. He will make sure to make it up to them by correcting, fixing, and owning up his mistakes.
To himself, he also expressed his sorry because for a time, he had this disconnection with himself. He said his sorry for not taking care of himself and added, “All of these were such a real nightmare and I don’t want to let the fear win again. This definitely served as a big lesson for me.”
