PAGASA Says Easterlies and Thunderstorms to Affect PH Weather Condition

PAGASA LATEST UPDATE – The state weather bureau reported that easterlies and thunderstorms will bring cloudy skies and rains over parts of the country.

On Monday (February 19, 2024), the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration released the latest weather update in the country. The easterlies and thunderstorms will affect the country’s weather conditions.

PAGASA specialist Obet Badrina reported that easterlies continue to affect the eastern section of the country. The easterlies are warm winds blowing from the Pacific Ocean. It will bring cloudy skies and rain showers over several areas.

The easterlies will bring partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms in the Bicol region, Northern Samar, Oriental Mindoro, Marinduque, and Romblon.

The easterlies and localized thunderstorms will bring similar weather over Metro Manila and the rest of the country.

Most of Visayas, Palawan, including Kalayaan Islands, Occidental Mindoro, and Mindanao are expected to experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with chances of isolated rain showers and thunderstorms.

However, hot and humid weather is expected in several areas despite the possibility of rain due to the easterlies.

The weather agency has advised the residents in the affected areas to take precautionary measures for possible flash floods and landslides due to moderate to at times heavy rains and severe thunderstorms.

Meanwhile, the coastal water condition over the entire archipelago will be slight to moderate.

PAGASA said that no gale warning was raised in any coastal area. No weather disturbances are spotted forming or entering the Philippine area of responsibility.
