Traffic Authorities Clamp Down on Motorcycles Near NOHS in Bacolod

The traffic authorities clamped 29 motorcycles for sale parked beside the road in Bacolod City, Negros Occidental.

Motorcycle impounding typically occurs when a rider violates traffic laws, puts themselves or others at risk, or fails to comply with certain regulations. Running red lights, speeding, reckless driving, or other serious traffic violations can lead to the impounding of a motorcycle.

Illegally parked motorcycles, especially in designated no-parking zones or blocking emergency routes, may be subject to impoundment. To reclaim an impounded motorcycle, the rider usually needs to pay fines, provide proof of registration and insurance, and address any outstanding legal issues.

Recently, the Bacolod Traffic Authority Office (BTAO) conducted a clearing operation to clamp down on motorcycles displayed for sale near Negros Occidental High School (NOHS) to address numerous complaints.

The clearing operation along Araneta Street aimed to clear the streets and sidewalks of obstruction caused by these parked motorcycles.

The presence of motorcycles not only created congestion in the area but also posed a challenge to traffic flow, particularly for students trying to navigate the streets.
