An aspiring young singer from Paranaque City named Eleana Gabunada joins the elite list of three-chair-turner in the third season of the country’s most popular singing competition for kids on national TV, The Voice Kids Philippines. The 7-year-old girl revealed during the interview that she started singing since she was five years old.
During the performance of Eleana Gabunada on The Voice Kids Blind Audition, the three judges, coach Bamboo, coach Lea Salonga and Coach Sharon Cuneta were impressed with her rendition of the song popularized by Rachel Platten titled “Fight Song.”
Veteran singer and Tony-Award-winning celebrity Lea Salonga was so impressed with the way the aspiring young singer performed her audition piece. Coach Lea was quoted as saying “Sigurado ka bang seven years old ka? Kasi parang ‘yung talent mo, parang mas matanda ‘yung kumakanta. ‘Yung understanding mo, ‘yung tono, ‘yung diction. Wala akong ma-i-comment kundi ang galing, galing, galing mo lang bata ka,” she said.
Coach Sharon Cuneta was also impressed with Eleana’s performance during the blind autition and stated that “”Hindi naman porke’t may naunang umikot, ‘yun na ‘yung pinakanagmamahal sa ‘yo. Meron naman, ine-enjoy muna ‘yung ganda ng boses mo, ‘pag harap, ay na-in love na sa ‘yo. Gusto ka na nga iuwi eh.” she said.
At the end of the performance of the young aspiring singer, she decided to chose Team Lea Salonga. Eleana Gabunada joins Peter Vallejos, Noel Comia Jr. and Yessha dela Calzada as members of “FamiLEA.”
“The Voice Kids,” which is hosted by Luis Manzano, Robi Domingo, and Kim Chiu, airs Saturdays after “Home Sweetie Home” and on Sundays after “Goin’ Bulilit.”
