Bong Revilla was accused that he let his convoy pass through the exclusive EDSA bus lane
Senator Bong Revilla denied that he violated the exclusive bus carousel lane regulations implemented by the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA).
On Wednesday, reports surfaced that a vehicle with plate “8” was apprehended along the EDSA Mandaluyong carousel lane.
In an interview, based on the report from ABS-CBN News, Ret. Col. Bong Nebrija, head of the Task Force Special Operations (TFSO), said that this is alarming that if it was not Sen. Revilla, then, there was someone who used his name just to get away from that violation.
Nebrija narrated that they ordered the vehicle to stop out of courtesy and respect toward Senators and Congressmen. He said that they asked if the Senator was there. Then, Nebrija said that the traffic law enforcer at the scene confirmed to him that the Senator was there.
“Eh di, I let him go,” the head of TFSO said. He stressed that he was the one who made the decision to let the convoy go.
In line with this issue, Senator Bong Revilla released a statement denying that his convoy had a bus lane violation.
“There is absolutely no truth to the malicious report that I was apprehended using the EDSA carousel busway,” the actor-politician stressed. He also explained that his daily commute is from the south to the Senate and there is no possibility that he will pass EDSA Mandaluyong.
MMDA’s Bong Nebrija said he relied on the word of one of the enforcers that Senator Bong Revilla is on board in one of the private vehicles who passed through the exclusive EDSA bus lane Wednesday morning.

The Senator added that when he has an appointment in the north, he usually takes the skyway from and back to the south. He also stressed if it was true that someone using his name was apprehended, then, the authorities should have acted upon it according to the law, as this is part of their job.
“I will ask the MMDA to explain why [my] name is being dragged and smeared. Napaka aga naman yata ng paninira,” Sen. Bong Revilla said.
