Phivolcs Releases Bulletin about the Earthquake Today in Davao Oriental, November 15, 2023

EARTHQUAKE – The Phivolcs recorded a 4.7 magnitude quake in Davao Oriental today, Wednesday, November 15, 2023.

Following the 4.7 magnitude earthquake that hit Sarangani yesterday, another significant quake was recently recorded by the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) in another province. According to the agency, the quake hit Davao Oriental today. It had a magnitude of 4.0.

The earthquake today that struck Davao Oriental, Wednesday, November 15, 2023, at 03:36 in the morning, was tectonic in origin. It specifically hit Governor Generoso. It followed the 4.0 magnitude quake that jolted its neighboring province, Davao Occidental, after a little more than an hour.

According to Phivolcs, the earthquake that hit a part of Davao Oriental was located at 06.57°North, 126.27°East – 024 km South 66° East of Governor Generoso. It had a depth of focus of 037 kilometers.

Phivolcs stated in its bulletin that damages are not expected from the said quake as well as aftershocks. According to the quake-recording agency, no intensity was recorded at the epicenter of the quake as well as the nearby areas. No instrumental intensity was logged as well.
