REQUIREMENTS FOR PAG-IBIG WITHDRAWAL OF SAVINGS – Here are the documents that a member must submit to get his/her savings from the Fund due to a critical illness.
Not only millions of Filipinos in the Philippines but as well as many overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) abroad maintain an active membership to the Pag-IBIG Fund. They do it by regularly posting monthly savings to the government agency.

The rates for the monthly savings are based on Pag-IBIG Contribution Table 2023. The government agency considers the nature of the source of income and the amount earned by the member in a month.
The Pag-IBIG Fund members includes locally employed and self-employed individuals, OFWs, and voluntary members. There are those who are under a mandatory membership while others voluntarily applied for a membership.

Most members of the Pag-IBIG Fund undeniably have mandatory membership due to their employer or the company they are working for. Here are the common categories for mandatory memberships:
- employees in the private sector who are 60 years old and below and on permanent, temporary, or provisional status
- government employees with GSIS coverage
- self-employed individuals earning at least P1,000 per month up to 60 years of age
- land-based overseas Filipino workers (OFWs)
- sea-based OFWs
- household helpers, gardeners, cooks, drivers, etc. with a salary of at least P1,000 per month
- Filipinos employed by foreign-based employers
- uniformed personnel like members of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP), Philippine National Police (PNP), and Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP)
There are also voluntary memberships to the Pag-IBIG Fund. Here are the common ones:
- non-working spouse of registered members of the Pag-IBIG Fund
- religious group and leaders
- public officials and employees without GSIS coverage
- pensioners, investors, and individuals with passive income
- Filipino employees of foreign government or international organization
If you maintain an active and updated account with the Fund, you may qualify to the Pag-IBIG loans offered by the government agency. Here are the three (3) main loan offers of the state institution:
A Pag-IBIG Fund member may withdraw his/her savings upon reaching the maturity date or after a 20-year contribution or under certain provisions. For example, when a member is diagnosed with a critical illness, the monthly savings can be withdrawn. Here are the requirements for Pag-IBIG withdrawal of savings due to critical illness:
- Application for Provident Benefits (APB) Claim (1 Original)
- Pag-IBIG Loyalty Card/Loyalty Card Plus or one (1) valid ID of the member (1 Photocopy)
- Physician’s Certificate/Statement (With Clinical or Medical Abstract) (1 Original)
- SSS Employment History (as applicable) (1 Photocopy)
The Pag-IBIG Fund member may also withdraw his/her savings if his/her immediate family member was diagnosed with a critical illness. Here are the requirements for Pag-IBIG withdrawal of savings due to critical illness:
- Application for Provident Benefits (APB) Claim (1 Original)
- Pag-IBIG Loyalty Card/Loyalty Card Plus or one (1) valid ID of the claimant (1 Photocopy)
- Physician’s Certificate/Statement (With Clinical or Medical Abstract) (1 Original)
- SSS Employment History (as applicable) (1 Photocopy)
- To establish kinship with the immediate family member, the member shall submit any of the following:
- Marriage Certificate issued by Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA)/National Statistics Office (NSO) or Local Civil Registry Office (LCRO) and
Advisory on Marriage issued by PSA/NSO of the member (1 Photocopy); and - Birth Certificate issued by PSA/NSO or LCRO or Baptismal Certificate (as applicable) (1 Photocopy); or
- Non-availability of Birth Record issued by PSA/NSO (1 Photocopy) and Joint Affidavit of Two Disinterested Persons (HQP-PFF-029)
