ELECTION DAY 2023 – Here is a guide on the do’s and don’ts when voting for the barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) polls today.

Today, October 30, 2023, millions of Filipinos are expected to visit the voting precincts for the Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) Elections. The local polls that get a lot of people anxious now is also called “BSKE”.

The major roads in the Philippines are undeniably less busy today as this day was declared a special non-working holiday in the country for the elections. The voting period started at 7:00 A.M. today and many voters have already cast their votes early today.

The political candidates are undeniably anxious now on the upcoming result of the election. Most often, the tentative winners for barangay and SK elections are determined before the day ends.

For the Election Day 2023, the voting period is from 7:00 A.M. until 3:00 P.M. It is best to know your precinct before leaving your house so finding your designated precinct will not take a lot of your time and energy .

You can check your precinct online through the Commission on Elections’ (Comelec) online precinct finder. There are also important guidelines in voting for the Election Day today. Here are some reminders voters must bear in mind:

  • Use the folder of the Commission on Elections (Comelec) to cover your ballot while voting.
  • As much as possible, avoid making erasures on your ballots.
  • Do not tear your Voter’s Ballot or make some unnecessary marks.
  • Do not take a photo of your Voter’s Ballot.
  • Do not show your Voter’s Ballot to anyone.
  • Leave the voting precinct right away after making your vote to decongest the people in the area.

If you are a Person with Disability (PWD), pregnant, or a senior citizen, you can bring with you an assistant to help you in voting. Voters who are aged 15 to 17 will get an SK ballot while those who are aged 18 to 30 will get both the Barangay and SK ballots.

Voters who are 31 years old and above will get a barangay ballot. Most often, the canvassing of votes right away start at 3 P.M. or when there are no more voters in line.
