The Game 3 of the UAAP Finals featuring arch-rivals Ateneo de Manila University and the De La Salle University will showcase their respective volleyball prowess for the last time to determine who will walk away with the championship in one of UAAP’s well-attended competition.
This is the fifth straight year, that the Lady Eagles and the Lady Spikers are battling it out in the Finals, with Ateneo chasing a third straight championship, and La Salle hoping to end their rivals’ reign and win their first title since Season 75.
The La Salle Lady Spikers drew first blood in the championship series, defeating the defending champion Ateneo en route to a 25-22, 25-22, 25-21 win on April 23 but Ateneo bounced back on Game 2 overcoming a two-set deficit to earn a gutsy 18-25, 26-28, 25-17, 25-16, 15-11 win.
UAAP MVP Alyssa Valdez was simply dominant, scoring a season-high 34 points in the victory during Game 2 and brought home the coveted MVP trophy:
