PAGASA Says Severe Tropical Storm Hanna to Bring Rains Over Parts of PH

PAGASA LATEST UPDATE – The state weather bureau reported that Severe Tropical Storm Hanna will bring rains over parts of the country.

On Thursday (August 31), the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration released the latest weather update for the country. Severe Tropical Storm Hanna is expected to affect the country’s weather conditions.

PAGASA reported that Severe Tropical Storm Hanna was last spotted 1,225 kilometers east of Extreme Northern Luzon. It has maximum sustained winds of 95 kilometers per hour and gustiness of up to 115 kph.

Super Typhoon Goring outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility and Hanna enhances the southwest monsoon. The enhanced habagat will bring occasional monsoon rains over the western portions of Luzon over the next three days.

The Trough of Super Typhoon Goring will bring cloudy weather conditions with scattered to widespread rain showers and thunderstorms over Batanes, Cagayan including Babuyan Islands, Ilocos Norte, and Apayao.

The southwest monsoon will bring similar weather conditions over Antique, the rest of Cordillera Administrative Region, the rest of Cagayan Valley, the rest of Central Luzon, the rest of CALABARZON, and the rest of MIMAROPA.

Habagat will bring occasional rains over Metro Manila, Abra, Benguet, Tarlac, Pampanga, Bulacan, Cavite, Batangas, and the rest of Ilocos Region. Partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms are expected over the remaining parts of the country.

The weather agency has warned the public of possible flash floods and landslides due to moderate at times heavy rains and severe thunderstorms.

Hanna is expected to leave PAR on Friday (September 1, 2023).

On the forecast track, this tropical cyclone is forecast to remain far from the Philippine landmass and may exit the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) tomorrow afternoon or evening while approaching the Ryukyu Islands,” PAGASA said.
