Mike Enriquez honored at Eastwood City
The late broadcaster Mike Enriquez received a tribute at the German Moreno Walk of Fame at Eastwood City in Quezon City.
Mike is one of the prominent personalities in the news and current affairs department of the Kapuso network. Over the years, he has done a remarkable job as a news anchor and journalist.
Before making a name as a broadcaster, Mike was a disc jockey. This is how he met his wife Lizabeth Yumping. Aside from being a news anchor or broadcaster, Mike also had radio programs.
He was the host of DZBB’s “Super Balita sa Umaga” and “Saksi sa Dobol B.” Mike Enriquez also held executive positions. He was the President of RGMA Network, Inc. and GMA Network’s Senior Vice President and Consultant for Radio Operations.
These are just some of the reasons why a lot of people love him. His fellow news anchors Vicky Morales and Mel Tiangco were emotional during the announcement of his death on 24 Oras.
Netizens also recalled the most memorable memories they had with Mike and Mel’s tandem on the Kapuso news program.
The late veteran news anchor also received a tribute at the German Moreno Walk of Fame, based on the article in GMA News. Eastwood City shared a post and it showed that there was a framed photo of Mike Enriquez placed on his star. There was also a lit candle and several bouquets of flowers.
“For the decades of [hard work] delivering information to millions of [Filipinos] here and abroad, your star will continue to shine as much as your passion, enthusiasm, and honesty. Eastwood City and the German Moreno Walk of Fame Foundation join the broadcast industry in remembering Mr. Mike Enriquez,” Eastwood City wrote in the post.
