Mayor Dutere Won’t Let Mindanao Down in the First Presidential Debate

The tough-talking Mayor of Davao City who is considered as the most popular presidential candidate on social media, Mayor Rodrigo Duterte promised his constituents and the people of Mindanao that he will not the residents of Mindanao down during the first-ever presidential debate on Sunday afternoon.

Mayor Duterte’s camp said in a press release that the Davao City Mayor is now prepared for the highly anticipated debate at the Capitol University located in Cagayan de Oro City.

According to the mayor, he is very excited but also nervous for the first televised presidential debate which will be covered by some of the country’s major news media organization aside from the international news media who will be sending their representatives in the Philippines.

Mayor Duterte also noted that the presidential debate is very important for him and his camp because it will be held in Mindanao, and the day is a very important for Mindanaoan and as someone who came from the province.

“A very important day for me and for all of us,” he said. “I am a probinsyano, I will be representing Mindanao and the provinces.”

Although Mayor Duterte admitted that he was nervous because the other candidates appeared to have appeared well for the Sunday debate, but he said he was not going to “let Mindanao, the provinces and the Philippines down.”
