PAGASA Says ITCZ to Affect PH Weather Condition
The state weather bureau PAGASA reported that Intertropical Convergence Zone will bring rains over some parts of the country.
On Thursday (July 6, 2023), the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration released the latest weather update in the country. The Intertropical Convergence Zone will affect the country’s weather condition.
PAGASA reported ITCZ will bring cloudy skies and rains over Southern Mindanao.
The ITCZ will bring cloudy weather condition with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms over Zamboanga Peninsula, Basilan, Sulu, Tawi-Tawi, and the southern portion of Palawan.
The easterlies and localized thunderstorms will bring partly cloudy to cloudy condition with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms over Metro Manila and the rest of the country.
PAGASA said that most parts of the country will have generally fair weather conditions.
“Simula sa araw ng Biyernes o bukas hanggang sa araw ng Linggo ay generally fair weather condition pa rin ang mararanasan sa buong bansa bagamat madalas pa rin ang thunderstorm activities sa bahagi ng Visayas at ng Mindanao dahil sa oscillation o paggalaw ng axis ng intertropical convergence zone (ITCZ),” Pagasa weather specialist Patrick Del Mundo said.
The weather agency has warned the public for flash floods or landslides due to moderate to at times heavy rains and severe thunderstorms.
Meanwhile, the coastal water condition over Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao will be slight to moderate, according to the weather bureau.
