Details about the Mandatory Face Mask Use Rule in Bacolod, Iloilo Cities
BACOLOD, ILOILO – The local government units of the two (2) cities once again implement the mandatory use of face mask.
The COVID-19 pandemic is still not over across the globe despite the easing of restrictions in several countries. For more than two (2) years since the disease was declared a pandemic, several nations were on tight borders. A lot of countries even banned travelers from certain nations to fight the spread of the virus.
Unfortunately, the virus continued to mutate and lots of different variants were recorded. Countries came up with vaccines to fight the spread of the virus.
Most countries urged their citizens to get vaccinated against the COVID-19. The booster shots were also made available in the event that the weaning of the effects of the vaccines are expected.
The mandatory use of face mask and practice of social distancing were also implemented for several months. It was only when the cases took a downward trend that countries started easing the restrictions and the protocols such as the face mask rule.
However, in the Philippines, the increasing cases of COVID-19 in some cities did not skip the eye of their local government units which acted immediately to fight the spread of the virus again. Based on a report on GMA News, Bacolod and Iloilo cities implement the mandatory face mask use anew.
According to the report, in Iloilo City, the use of face mask is mandatory again inside the establishments and public utility vehicles (PUVs). In Bacolod City, the use of face mask is once again mandatory inside the PUVs.
Meanwhile, the national government is not keep on implementing the same rule but the health department reminded the public to assess when and where they should be wearing their face mask.
