Marian Rivera Opens Up About Teaching Her Two Children Financial Responsibility

Here’s what Marian Rivera shared about this.

Marian Rivera opens up about teaching her children Zia and Sixto the value of money, saving, spending wisely, and working hard for what they want.

GMA superstars Marian Rivera and Dingdong Dantes were blessed to have two children, Zia and Sixto. Recently, the actress opened up about their parenting approach as they raise their children.

According to her, they are taking a careful approach to introducing financial matters to their children, and they have yet to allow their kids to personally handle money.

“Kasi sa age ni Zia at Sixto ngayon, hindi pa namin sila pinapahawak ng pera. So ang ginagawa namin is ini-earn nila,” Marian said, explaining that they want their children to understand the value of money before giving them greater responsibility over it.

As a mother of two, she shared that it hasn’t always been about providing them with what they need, but it is also about providing them with guidance so they grow up understanding the importance of responsibility, discipline, and appreciating what they have.

This approach was greatly influenced by her upbringing, particularly when it comes to teaching them the value of money. Because of her experience, she wants to instill the same mindset in her children. She explained that she wants Zia and Sixto to understand that money should not simply be spent whenever they want something. Instead, they should learn how to manage, save, and prioritize their needs.

In terms of the financial aspect, they will teach them through a gradual process. This is also their way of teaching them to distinguish between things they simply want and those that are truly important.

As she got older, her perspective on money changed. She has become more intentional in spending, the same value she would want to instill in Zia and Sixto.
